Edward Benoit, the director of the Virtual Footlocker Project, will present a two-hour workshop. This workshop will provide participants with the fundamentals of collecting and preserving the personal military records of contemporary veterans. Edward will discuss the different types of records military members create and why they are important. Participants will learn about the basic strategies and practices for organizing, storing, and preserving physical and digital materials and how to locate additional resources and support. The workshop is specifically designed for recent veterans and active-duty military members; however, veterans from any era (and their families) may also benefit.
