Join the conversation as we pick apart Whiskey Tender: A Memoir with the author, Deborah Jackson Taffa. Deborah's first memoir looks at major topics and interpersonal stories relevant to many Indigenous people in today's ever-changing society. This memoir has been named on "best" lists including Esquire, Oprah Daily, ELLE, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.
With fellowships and grants from the Nation Endowment for the Arts, PEN America, MacDowell, and the NY State Summer Writer's Institute, Deborah received her MFA from NWP at the University of Iowa. A citizen of the Kwatsaan (Yuma) Nation and Laguna Pueblo, she is currently the director of the MFA CW program at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM.
