Join us every month at the International District Library as we read and discuss YA books with inclusive representations of characters, themes, and settings. We discuss issues such as separation of authors and the work they publish, the relationship between reader and author, and the importance of representation all while having a blast reading new books together. For ages 13-18.

Cover image of book called My Perfect FamilyThis month, we will be joined by local author Khadijah VanBrakle to discuss her newest YA novel, “My Perfect Family” (Kirkus starred review) as a special iteration of Read Between the Spines Teen Book Club. For a deeper discussion and more enjoyable experience, please read “My Perfect Family" before the event and come ready with questions and comments for the author to hear!
