This year, we offer two open crafting times to make an entry for the El Kookooee contest! Bring your imagination and nothing else, since all materials will be provided. We will have a variety of materials and embellishments to create your model to enter into the contest. All school-age children can enter and winners will receive a prize and recognition, while one winner’s model will be the inspiration for next year’s Kookooee! El Kookooee is a boogeyman that represents the anxieties and fears of the South Valley Community. It’s built by volunteers and is burned on the last Sunday of October. This year, El Kookooee occurs on October 26 at Rio Bravo Park behind the library.
