Baca Family Connections to the Socorro Land Grant

 In 1815, families from Belen reestablished the community of Socorro, New Mexico. But who were these settlers? Many were descendants of the Baca family. In his new book, History and Families of the Socorro Land Grant, Part I: The Baca Family and Their Descendants, author Robert J.C. Baca shares the stories of 35 of these families. His presentation will highlight some of these accounts—and will surely leave you eager to hear more.  Robert is a former president of the New Mexico Genealogical Society and has spent over 25 years researching the history and genealogy of Socorro. He will be signing copies of his book, which will be available for purchase at a special price.
