Atop the Windmill is a bittersweet series of narrations that captures the heart of growing up bilingual/bicultural in rural New Mexico during the 1950s. This is contrasted with a period of living in Mexico, with all the identity complications that brings. "Am I or am I not Mexican/Mexican/American?"
