LEAP Into Science logoJoin us the first Wednesday of every month for science, technology, engineering and math!

Air is all around us, but it is most noticeable in the form of wind. A light breeze may barely move your clothing while a strong gust could blow a hat right off your head. Children can learn a lot about wind by simply observing it and experimenting with moving air, as Gilberto does in Gilberto and the Wind. Children will decide how their experiences with the wind are similar or different from Gilberto’s. They will build wind catchers and describe the effects different wind speeds have on their creations. Finally, children will take their wind catchers home and continue to explore wind and share their observations with their families!
