Bright Lights, Dark Shadows

Night Lights by Susan Gal and Blackout by John Rocco

In this workshop, preschoolers will explore light and shadows using flashlights. They will demonstrate how light reflects off of shiny objects, and how light can be blocked by various objects to make shadows of different shapes and sizes. By experiencing light and shadows in various contexts and using key vocabulary to support this idea, preschoolers will begin to develop foundational understanding about light and shadows.
