Many know Aldo Leopold from his book, The Sand County Almanac. He is thought to be the most influential conservationist of the 20th century. Our first National Wilderness area, the Gila Wilderness resulted from Leopold’s efforts. He spent over a decade in the Albuquerque area working with the National Forest Service and the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. This talk will focus more on his time here in New Mexico, his local accomplishments and his family.

Our presenter is Steve Morgan. A naturalist and Landscape Architect with many Leopold parallels in his own life, his Chautauqua performances have been called “transformative” and “bringing one as close as is humanly possible to a walk with Aldo himself.”
