The Public Library and Friends of the Public Library present our annual book to film adaptation event, Books to the Big Screen!

Tom Destry, son of a legendary frontier peacekeeper, doesn't believe in gunplay. He becomes the object of widespread ridicule when he rides into the town of Bottleneck, the personal fiefdom of a crooked power-hungry boss named Kent. Destry’s detractors laugh even louder when he signs on as deputy to a drunken sheriff, but the laughter subsides when he casually proves himself a crack shot, despite his abhorrence of firearms.
