The Public Library and Friends of the Public Library present our annual book to film adaptation event, Books to the Big Screen!

Shane, a mysterious drifter rides into a tiny homesteading community and is hired as a farm hand by a local rancher. When land baron, Emile Meyer, is unable to drive off the homesteaders by sheer brute strength, he engages the services of an evil hired gun. When peaceful methods fail to stop the hired gun, Shane abandons his vow to renounce violence.

There will be a book discussion after the screening. Pick up a copy of the novel at the Juan Tabo Circulation Desk or contact the branch for more details.
