Albuquerque’s readers theater group, JACL Players, chronicles the lives of 4,555 men of Japanese ancestry who the U.S. government incarcerated as "enemy aliens" in Lordsburg, Santa Fe, and Fort Stanton during World War II. The little-known stories of these camps and the townspeople who lived in close proximity are  funny, tragic, hopeful, and inspiring. This multimedia performance is 50 minutes long and is followed by a post-play discussion with the cast.

New Mexico Japanese American Citizens League has been bringing "living history" stories to the Special Collections Library since 2015. Artistic director Nikki Nojima Louis says "Your audiences are special as they are the first to preview anything new to our program. This year it will be a peek at a film, Community in Conflict: The Santa Fe Internment Camp Marker, in which the JACL Players make a surprise appearance."
