I fell in love with butterflies when I was a little girl, hoping one would sit on my finger and stay forever. They were beautiful and they were everywhere! Today, there are days when I never see a butterfly, sometimes only one or 2 bees. They’re not just beautiful – they and other hard-working pollinators provide us with one of every 3 bites we eat. Can you imagine if there were no flowers or lemons for lemonade, no green chile or onions for your burger?

Kristin Thompson was born in Las Cruces and has lived most of her life in New Mexico. She loves gardening, is constantly amazed by nature and wildlife, and the more she learns about pollinators, the more passionate she becomes about them.

“I’m excited to be able to share what I’ve learned with others. It’s more than a story. It’s real life and each of us can make a difference!”

Registration is required.
