He recently published a book Second Takes: A Fresh Look at Classic World Cinema: Essays. A review in Publishers Weekly magazine noted, “Readers will discover how interactions of visual elements with components such as sound effects, music, color, dialogue, and editing create a dynamism that shapes our response to films.” The author will present movie frames and explore how their structure captivates viewers emotionally and intellectually.
